Calculate Acceleration of Atwood Machine with Friction and Pulley Mass
A block sits on a rough, level surface and is connected by a string that runs over a pulley to a hanging block.
Walk through how to apply Newton's Laws in to each individual object in order to solve for the linear acceleration of each of the blocks. Apply Newtons 2nd Law to each of the blocks in translation (linear motion) and apply the rotational version of the 2nd Law Torque = Inertia x Angular Acceleration to the pulley in order to account for the mass, radius and shape of the pulley.
Setting up a system of three equations and three unknowns we are able to generate an equation for the acceleration of the system.

    sir , T1 and T2 you placed on the FBD of pulley , would be more approriate if called normal reaction ??, as T1 and T2 are components of the normal reaction due to the rope on pulley?

      the vector sum of T1 and T2 should be exerted by the pulley bracket up and to the right, thus making the net translational force on the pulley zero. I left that out because it seemed like a digression in the lesson. additionally, note: T1 and T2 are not acting normal to the pulley, they are acting tangent to the pulley.

    I think in a physical manner, there is less water particles on the smaller tube and mpre on the wider tube therefor less electrons pushing back creating lower pressure

Now watch what happens when we put the beaker in a vacuum and suck most of the air out of this vacuum chamber. Now as atmospheric pressure decreases, like when you go up an altitude, the boiling point of water decreases. But the freezing point barely changes at all. And as we approach a perfect vacuum, around one half of 1% of an atmosphere, the boiling point of water becomes so low that it's actually the same as the melting point, or the freezing point of water, meaning what you're looking at right now is both a frozen solid, a liquid, and a boiling gas all at once.     Thanks. I was looking at using one large traditional generator that was rated at 73 decibels or using two smaller inverter generators rated at 58 decibels. With this, I found the two smaller generators combine to 61.01 decibels. I know which I'm using now lol.

    if the semi minor axe (the horizontal one in this case) is larger or smaller, it does not affect the time ? because the time seems to only depends on r1 + r2 over 2, but it seems counter untuitive. If the ellipse is wider, the time should be somehow different, am i wrong ?

      volume in must equal volume out. do you mean area? if thats the case, there is a loss in pressure as the fluid gains height.

    I made a car for my daughters science homework. All the kids had to make this and I used an ordinary toy car about 8 inches long and put a mouse trap on top of it with a string attached between the metal wire on the mouse trap and the axle of the car. It didn't work very well. But even with no string attached the movement of the mouse trap wire in a semi circle from the front to the back of car, imparted forward velocity to the car. The car should have moved forward as the wire of the mouse trap moved backwards in a semi circle and then the sudden stop of the wire should have imparted the equal backwards motion to the car but it didn't. The car kept moving forward. I could not figure this out. Still can't. Momentum was not conserved. The whole car and mouse trap together were in a stopped state at the beginning and should have been stopped in almost exactly the same location at the end as the mouse trap triggered. The car should have moved forward and then backwards back to the exact same spot. But the car in real life went all the way across the room. If you did this in outer space and a weight inside a closed space ship is thrown from one side to the other, the space ship will move a bit in the opposite direction and then stop in s slightly different spot because of the center of mass being moved.
